Just realize that I haven´t updated in over two months, thats way to long time.

I have drawn a lot lately but I haven´t done anything that I want to publish on my blog.  And I got to admit that I have been caught up in watching way to much anime as well. You know once you start you can never stop, it´s a really scary addiction actually.

I have downloaded the 30 days trial of Corel Painter 12, cause I have been curious about it.  I seems to work pretty much as photoshop but with a hole lot more fun pencils. So here is a sketch that I did playing around in painter. I did some afterwork in photoshop. I really wish I had the full version.

I keept my promise there is no purple in this one.

It has been like forever since I drew something worth of publish in my blog. But I´m really happy with these two, especially the red one. I´m sorry for the terrible color combination. Red and pink isn´t really my favourite colors together, but hey these two suits each other pretty well otherwise. The first one is inspired by Tim Burtons wonderfull movie Corps Bride. And the second one was inspired by the infamous scene from Hamlet. 

Sketches

I have been laying in bed sick now for like a week. So I was so happy when I woke up this morning feeling a whole lot better. I actually got around to both study some and to draw some. So I decided to draw some doll like girls, but how ever I changed along the way and drew some boys as well. Well I know they look very feminine, but jet I´m very happy for my effort, and some day I might even be abel to draw manly guys. Hey who am I kidding!

I really suck at drawing boys, so I have dedicated a sketchbook for that matter. It´s kind of sad that I haven´t tried harder to draw males before, I mean it´s kind of fun especially if you get to draw them bare chested. I will promise you a lot more guys in my blog from now on.

3D dumbo rat

       here is my rat again. We had to to put our animal in to a scene. I chose a kitchen as it made me able to play around with objects, textures and colors the way I wanted. Those two a rendered with mental ray. Done in 3D studio max, Mudbox and Photoshop.

So it have been a while since I last updated. I have had so much to do in school and still do. So here I sit in my holiday and studying. Now lets stop complaining. 

Right before the summer break I read a 3D recess course. It sounds interesting doesn't it. We got to pick an animal that we wanted to build, texture etc. And of course I choose something girly and sweet, (next time I promise to give you something ugly and creepy instead. Think I can manage to do that). After many hours of hard work in 3D studio max, Mudbox and Photoshop I´m actually really happy with the outcome.  Of course theres a lot I would change if I had more time. But with the time limit and the fact that our teacher almost never was there during class, I'm really happy with the result. 

Backgrounds

We are studying animation in school right now. Not my favorite subject since you have to understand Flash, which I don't, at this point. I got the assignment to create an information video about the microwave owen. And now you think, that subject sucks! But you wouldn't really say that if you knew what the other subjects was, really they where worse.

However I have chosen to tell the history of the microwave oven instead of how it works. This made me abel to draw humans, oh yeah! I love to draw humans, who doesn't, right. I even managed to squeeze in God, a monster and some romance in my storyboard. I will share that one with you later.

Right now I'm working on my backgrounds in Illustrator. I love to work in Illustrator, it's so much easier than Flash, Photoshop and Indesign. Thought I share some of my backgrounds here on my blog.

Nightmare Rewoorked

I just found out that my wacom tablet is broken. I´m so addicted to that thing. Seriously how can anybody work in a computer without a tablet. That´s like you had to paint your traditional art with your bare hands instead of using a brush. 

However over to something more fun. I have been reworking my nightmare sketch cause I really want make this into a finished piece. It´s drawn on four papers, that´s why there is a white line in the middle. And I actually used the old sketch, I resized it to a bigger size in the computer, than I changed the density too really light and printed it out. And then I could repaint the whole thing using the old sketch as guide lines. I the whole process once more and now I feel like the sketch starting to get finished.  This a trick I stole from my favorite illustrator James Jean.

It has been so fun making al of these monsters and creatures of the night. I got some ideas from friends. who's been like "you should draw this and that".

It has been sale on books lately in Sweden and I wanted to get an art book about Alphonse Mucha, you know that man who makes all those half naked women. that could be any manly illustrator right. But if I said it´s the guy who painted women with flowing hair in greece inspired outfits on backgrounds with flower ornamentals in the ending of the 18 century and beginning of the 19, then you surely know who he is right. However the bookstore was out of this book when I arrived so I ordered Dita von tesses  book instead. I love her style to pieces. 

Animal Sketches

Thought I would share some of the sketches I did at Parken Zoo and Naturhistoriska riksmuseet. I so want to visit Naturhistoriska again and draw more animals. I drew them with black filtpen and ProMarkers.

I hate to publish the same images twice but I reworked these images in Photoshop and painted a part of the flower in watercolor. Even that one is reworked in Photoshop cs5.

So this is what I have been working on this week. We where at Parken Zoo and at Naturhistoriska riksmuseet and draw animals which we used as references for our paintings. I have practical lived in School this week, but it has been so much fun and I have learned so much. 

I chose the sloth since I feel in love with it right away when I saw it. He had "I wanna hug you" written all over his face. The frog just had so much character. I kind of felt some empathy for him since he looked as lost as I'm normally feel.

I now that they doesn't really look that realistic. I have a tendency to put to much manga/comic book style into my pictures. But I like the outcome anyway.

Thought I would update with some random sketches. The first one is supposed to be a portrait of Natalie Portman the other ones are still life sketches. Think they match kind of nice together.

School Assignment Bee

I'm  finally done with this school assignment. It took me five days to do, which is much more time then I use to put in to a painting. It's done in watercolors, white gouache and some small editing in Photoshop CS5. We got an insect each in the class that we had to create a picture of. I chose an bee mainly cause there wasn't many options left when it was my turn and because I thought it would be funny to work on all those hair. I had so much fun doing this and for once I'm actally really happy with the outcome.

Orchid

This my latest school assignment. We had to pick a plant and draw it in stippling technique. I chose an Orchid since I thought they would be easy to draw. I miss calculated the time a little bit thought. I thought I would draw it fast, but it actually took me four days to finish it. But I´m quite happy with the outcome. 

Nightmare

I drew this doodle last night. Got this idea in my head, which I just had to get down on paper. 

It´s inspired by the cover of Avenged Sevenfolds' album Nightmare. Which by the way is an amazing album, it´s not to often you come by an album where you like more than like three songs now days. 

I'm planing on continue with this one and draw a new sketch, maybe in a more exiting angle and with some more nightmare-ish elements, like maybe some spiders, bats or clowns. I haven´t had any references for there poses but I did use some pictures of skeletons to se how they are constructed. 

New Blog

So I finally got my as out of the wagon and created a blog here at blogger.com, wohoo. Except  for blood, sweat and tears I intend to fill it with my latest sketches and art works. Hope you will enjoy it as much as I will.
